I slapped a cop and ran away from the police… will I get caught?
So I was at this guys party… I dont really know him but my friend Ashley was going so I went with her!

At the party we didn’t know anyone! We are only 14 and the guys there were like 15, 16, 17… but we just talked to random people and I was drinking pepsi and eating pizza

ok then Ashley said she wants to leave because the guys are smoking pot and marijuana and in the dining room there was some girl and she was naked and there was this guy and he was naked and they were lying down on the floor having sex and the girl was screaming like crazy and I tink they were videotaping it and the girl was like smearing pizza on her boobs it was SOOOOOOOOOOOO nasty I ran away.

Me and Ashley went upstairs because we put our purses and coats and stuff in the bedrooms. Then when we were about to come downstairs, like some cops busted into the house.

There were 2 cop cars outside and one cop at the door and more cops outside.

They said there was a noise complaint and then they realized there was pot and almost EVERY person at the party was high. And the girl that was having sex was only 15 and the guy was 17. They said EVERYONE here is under arrest.

Me and Ashley were sooo scared. I took my heels off and put them in my purse so I could run.

We snuck downstairs into the dining room and we were behind the sofa.

Ashley just ran right out of the door and she went around the side of the house but I couldnt go because I was so worried the cops would see!!!!1!!

Then this female officer saw me and grabbed my wrist. I was so nervous I was like crying. She said I am under arrest, I have the right to remain silent, omg, I felt like throwing up.

She took my purse off and put it on the ground. She put me up against the wall and she was touching my boobs! (i think she was searching me!)

Then I panicked since I didnt wanna get arrested!

I spun around so fast and I slapped this chick hard yo

Then I grabbed my purse and sprinted through the living room.

In the living room there were like dozens of people lying down face first and they were being handcuffed

I was running and I was so scared I jumped out the window (it was open) and I ran across the backyard and jumped a fence.

Then I was jumping fences and I ended up on this random street

I met up with Ashley and me and her were running and there was a cop car behind us and we ran so fast and we slipped into this random backyward and got away

how many people were at the party? i really don’t believe this story. if there is pot drinking and a shitload of noise at a party and the 1-4 cops (you said 2 cars right?) come over the first thing that comes to mind is everybody run. really its 4 VS an entire party at that moment. really only 4 people would get caught minimum. dude who answers the door, 2 people screwing in the living room (if their still going) , guy who owns the house. but you i don’t think you’ll have a problem unless A) someone rats you out B) they put an artist depiction of your face on the news and your parents turn you in. C) they put a description of your friend on the news and she rats you out. other than that at least you can say I SLAPED A COP AND CALLED HER A BITCH!!! (or whatever cuss word you said) that does sound a little lesbianish though.

I surely wish I had some concrete news for everyone, including myself.

I’ve slowed down tremendously on my quest for such info but am still making a phone call here and there…sending e mails to all involved etc. I did send a couple of emails to TB Support yesterday. Here is the response to the one I sent asking for a "real time update"—(I am not sure why it says "the 2nd or 3rd of next week" since it was sent yesterday, 2/1, but that indicates to me that it is yet another "form letter" and very poorly written, at that.)

The most current information we’ve been given is that the IRS will know by the 2nd or 3rd of next week if you will be getting a direct deposit or a check.
Please call the IRS directly if you don’t see a deposit by the 3rd.

If the IRS is unable to process the direct deposit of your bank account, they will mail a paper check to the address on file with the return. If you receive a check from the IRS all fees will be waived.

To verify when you will be receiving your refund you will need to contact the IRS directly at this number 1-800-829-1040 or MetaBank /Santa Barbara bank at 1-877-908-7228. They also have internet access at the following sites: IRS website: www.irs.gov MetaBank: https://cisc.sbbtral.com/index.asp.

The second email I sent was an inquiry as to why, if they submitted our returns twice which obviously indicated they were aware of the problem, did they not contact anyone regarding such. Now, this response is a flat out lie since I was personally informed by IRS that a second attempt on my return was filed.

I am showing that your return was only sent into the IRS once everything on our end looks okay.

Now all that said and done, I see that for some odd reason, one that I will never figure out, people post all kinds of false hope statements. I try so hard not to be a cynic but I can only conclude that somewhere, somehow, there is the possiblity that there is something in it for such persons so all, please bear in mind that scams come in every size, shape and form….please be sure that in your zeal to get your funds, that you don’t fall prey to anything. Do not communicate in emails with anyone….you’d be surprised what you might let slip…Do not give your info to anyone other than, at this point, IRS personnel and make sure that you have made the call to them….they will NEVER call you etc….

I appreciate your input, however, I was not stating that the returns were in anyway rejected, therefore resulting in a double filing. What happened was TaxBrain submitted the returns and then, apparently, discovered the routing number error and tried to resubmit the returns—foolish of them, I know, because they certainly should have known that you simply can’t resubmit and already submitted return if you see an error. An "amended return" would have to be filed.
My point is that since this was done, they were aware that there was an error back on 1/16 or 1/17 yet they did not communicate this to any of us filers. That in itself, is a huge breach of the "fiduciary" one would think should be commonplace.
ATTENTION:
I strongly suggest that if you are going to copy and paste any emails or chats that you delete any personal info, including your name and especially any identifying information.

Call 866-581-1040 and enter your info. For most of us it plays a recording stating that our deposit was received but that it was returned to IRS….curious so let us know the outcome of that call.

An electronic tax return is only submitted more than one time if it’s originally rejected by the IRS. The IRS does not parse direct deposit routing codes or bank account numbers as part of the initial error checking routines. They only match the first 4 letters of the taxpayer’s last name and SSN with SSA records and verify that any SSNs have not already been used on a previously accepted return.

A bad routing number or account number won’t be discovered until after the IRS has processed the tax return and releases the refund for payment by direct deposit. If the routing number is invalid (i.e. does not convert to a real bank) then the payment is processed for a paper check immediately and the delay is usually no more than a week or two.

If the routing number points to the wrong bank, the IRS has no way of knowing that and will release the refund. When it hits the bank, the bank will reject the payment since the account number and name on the transaction won’t match an account with the bank. The reject process can take a day or two. Most banks dump rejects into a queue called Item Reject and those are reviewed by a human before the deposit it accepted or rejected. If it’s a slight name misspelling but the account number is good, the bank will route the money to the proper account. If the account number and name don’t belong to that bank, they will kick it back to the sender — the IRS in this case.

Once the money is returned to the IRS, they will process your refund for payment by paper check and mail it out in about 4 to 6 weeks. Most of that delay is because the process is not automated. It takes a human at FMS (the Treasury Dept office that handles all government payments including tax refunds) to requeue the refund for payment by paper check. While your refund is sitting in Limbo at FMS, the IRS won’t have any status update on it and this is why they can’t tell you much about where it is.

For the most part, the former Taxbrain customers who were victimized by their massive screwup will have to wait 4 to 6 weeks for a paper check to arrive in the mail. Unfortunately there’s no way to expedite the process.

You have no choice I’m afraid. a subpoena is an order from the Court to appear and answer any questions that are put to you. If you are asked a question you don’t want to answer you can just get vague and muddled up - lots of witnesses do that! You can’t refuse to take the stand however, otherwise you are in contempt of court and could be fined and/or jailed!

Sorry, but you don’t have any ‘rights’ as a witness. If you have been given a subpoena, you have to go to court. If you are put on the stand, you have to answer questions. The only thing you don’t have to do is implicate yourself, or give testimony that puts you in a bad light.
Lawyers say they can’t give you legal advice? That’s what lawyers DO!!!!
It’s tough to testify against a friend, but one thing you can do is resist ‘fishing expeditions’. Answer a direct question - give a direct answer, but don’t elaborate on it. If they ask you if you saw your friend driving a car, say ‘yes’ if you did, but you don’t have to volunteer that your friend had just consumed a mickey before getting in the car, or that your friend didn’t have a license, or that your friend was speeding.
If they ask you a question that you feel you are not qualified to answer (how fast was your friend driving?) just say ‘I don’t know" - that’s a perfectly acceptable response.

You have no rights. You have been subpoeaned. If you are called to testify you will have to do so truthfully or risk perjury charges. You do not have to volunteer information only answer the questions you are ask. If you fail to appear per the subpoeana you can be arrested and compelled to testify. If you took part in the criminal act and could be charged you may have a 5th amendment right to refuse to answer some questions but not neccessarily all of the questions. You may want to consult your friends lawyer prior to testifying. They have as much right to speak with you as the prosecution does and would probably be interested in doing so. However, they represent your friend, and while they may be able to answer some of your questions, they cannot give you legal advice.

Well, firstly if you know the books and the movie very well, then you should know plenty about the personality traits of a particular character.

Secondly, you should never model yourself after someone else directly. Life is about experimenting and learning and growing based on experience - you become a unique person because of your life. Basing your life on the personality of a fictional character is misleading to yourself, other people, and it probably isn’t good for maintaining a stable mind.

Can a psychology major chime in here? All I know is that this isn’t healthy, but I’m sure it could be described in better, more accurate terms as to why.

As more and more countries become democratic and economically involved with one another (ie dependent), the use for war diminishes.

Look at a globe. Where are the countries currently at war?
Mostly in Africa, among their neighbors, and in the Middle East.
And that little fleck of evil in North Korea.

The only way to create world peace, I believe, is via what happened in the sci-fi film Equilibrium.

If you have not seen it essentially it involved a dictatorial government that enforced the people of Earth to take daily a drug that suppressed emotion. The theory was that if people were emotionless they could not desire to fight. Religion and rival political parties were banned too. What a nightmare.

I think so. If you look at the statistics we are becoming more peaceful. I know that sounds strange given that we are currently embroiled in 2 wars, as well as the gulf war, Vietnam, World War 1 and 2, the holocaust, the genocides in Kosovo, Rwanda, Darfur etc. but the 20th century was actually the most peaceful in history.
